Anyone know about accommodation on a budget in Rarotonga something really homely and cultural?

Rarotonga uses the NZ Dollar as their currency and due to the decrease in the value of the USD, you'll be hard pressed to find anything cheap in Raro. There are many backpacker type places on the beaches around the island though.
