How do I put my son down for a nap without nursing?

My son is going on 11 months and will be entering daycare soon. I'm trying to get him to take a nap without me haviing to nurse him. He does'nt take a soothie anymore and most of the time he will not take a bottle either. I'm nervous that he'll be very difficult to deal with when he starts going to daycare. Anyone have any tips? Help please! Oh and he's a screamer
